Research Symposium and Dinner

The Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery is hosting a research symposium and dinner in honor of Professor and Chairman Emeritus Robert A. Schindler, MD, who is retiring from UCSF after 30 years. Schindler, who served as department chairman from 1989-1999, is well-known for his scientific and medical contributions to development of the cochlear implant. Al Mann, chairman and co-chief executive officer of Advanced Bionics Corporation, will be the keynote speaker at the symposium.

This benefit for the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast and Gynecologic Oncology Programs is hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue in collaboration with the UCSF Cancer Council and The Cancer League, Inc. Festivities will include complimentary pampering by Therapeia at the Splendora.com Spa Spot, sampling of fare from some of San Francisco's finest restaurants and hotels, a silent auction, raffle prizes, Surprise Sacks, live entertainment and shopping.
