“Raising Hope” Brings in Nearly $4 Million for Cancer Center

More than 525 friends of UCSF came together on the evening of March 14 to attend “Raising Hope,” a biennial black-tie gala to benefit the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Guests at the event—held on San Francisco Bay’s spectacular Treasure Island—enjoyed an elegant dinner and special performances by Tony Award–winning Broadway stars Bernadette Peters and Tommy Tune. Ticket purchases, generous bids at the evening’s live auction and additional gifts brought the evening’s fundraising total to nearly $4 million to support the Cancer Center’s research, clinical care and community health initiatives.
