James Asp II Welcome to Philanthropy Insider
James Asp II
Over the past three years, you have all become familiar with our monthly electronic newsletter, Campaign Insider, as University Development and Alumni Relations reported on exciting developments in fundraising for the Campaign for UCSF. Now that this campaign has successfully concluded, we will keep you up to date on campus fundraising priorities through a new publication: Philanthropy Insider.

Like its predecessor, Philanthropy Insider will be sent electronically to members and directors of the UCSF Foundation; other University donors and volunteers; and senior UCSF faculty, administrators, and staff. In each issue you will find:
  • News of recent gifts to the institution from individuals, corporations, and foundations;
  • Stories about the faculty, students, caregivers, and investigators working to make the next breakthroughs in science and health; and
  • Announcements and coverage of events supporting UCSF priorities.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your support during the seven-year Campaign for UCSF. Without its generous donors, enthusiastic volunteers, and hardworking fundraisers, UCSF would not have reached the impressive campaign total of $1.66 billion—substantially more than its goal of $1.4 billion.

As you follow UCSF's progress during the coming years, please remember that your continuing involvement with this institution is vitally important as we prepare the next generation of health-care leaders, accelerate the pace of scientific discovery, transform patient care, and promote healthy communities in California and around the globe.

With warm regards,
Jim Asp
