Monthly Gift Highlights

We are pleased to highlight a few recently received gifts:
  • The Alafi Family Foundation has made a gift of $100,000 to support the work of Steven Pantilat, MD, director of the Palliative Care Program at the UCSF Medical Center, and his colleagues. The program focuses on bringing physical, emotional, and spiritual solace to patients with serious, chronic, and life-threatening illnesses, to those at the end of life, and to their families.
  • A gift of $50,000 from Marie Schwoerer Curtright will establish the Curtright Endowed Scholarship Fund in the School of Nursing. The scholarship will provide support for students enrolled in the Masters Entry Program in Nursing, which prepares for the profession college graduates who do not have previous nursing training or experience. Mrs. Curtright is a 1943 graduate of the UCSF School of Nursing.
  • A gift of more than $90,000 from Jacqueline Evans to the Adolescent Psychiatric Center in the Department of Psychiatry will support intensive family therapy programs under the direction of Kim Norman, MD.
  • Gifts totaling just over $100,000 from the J.M. Long Foundation will provide support to doctor of pharmacy students in the School of Pharmacy, with $60,000 going to the J.M. Long Endowed Scholarship Fund and the remainder going to the School's Student Assistance Fund.
