UCSF Symposium Tackles Global Health Challenge

Over 150 students, faculty, and global health researchers from around the world gathered at UCSF for the Fourth Annual Global Health Symposium on April 24.

Sponsored by UCSF Global Health Sciences (GHS) and the School of Medicine's Office of International Programs, the symposium featured a keynote speech by Gerald T. Keusch, MD, assistant provost and associate dean for global health at Boston University; prize-winning presentations from UCSF students; and a slide show of images captured by students and faculty working to improve health care around the world.

Now in its third year, GHS provides an opportunity for UCSF's faculty and students to help eliminate health disparities across the globe, improving the lives of vulnerable populations from the San Francisco Bay Area to Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
