Opening Celebration of the Orthopaedic Institute at Mission Bay

Through the Orthopaedic Institute, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery will bring the first patient-care and research combined facility to Mission Bay. The newly constructed building will house many of our state-of-the-art programs and advanced patient services in conjunction with ancillary services to simplify and accentuate our patients' visits.

The Orthopaedic Institute will be home to our Human Performance Center, Dance Medicine Center, Pain Management, Patient and Family Education, Specialty Clinics, Surgery Center, Cartilage Regeneration Center, Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, and the Playsafe/ Runsafe Programs.



In Our Shoes, Art for Recovery Benefit

Please join renowned designers Ann Getty, Kendall Wilkinson, Michael Agins, Shopworks and Stanlee Gatti along with Adidas Originals and PlumpJack for In Our Shoes, a benefit for Art for Recovery at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

These noted designers will come together to support cancer patients and their families through artistic celebration. Classic white tennis shoes, generously donated by Adidas Originals, will be transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces of art and auctioned off. Guests will enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, live and silent auctions and a special performance at 7pm by Eoin Harrington.

Art for Recovery provides a safe environment where adults can express the intense feelings that arise in life-threatening illnesses, nurturing the aesthetic sensibilities of patients, visitors and medical staff at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and in the community.

UCSF Rosalind Russell Medical Research Center for Arthritis 30th Anniversary Gala

Please join us for a celebration in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the Rosalind Russell Medical Research Center for Arthritis. The evening will include a sneak preview of Life is a Banquet, a documentary about the life of stage and film actress Rosalind Russell. We will be joined by Oscar nominee and Golden Globe Award winner, Kathleen Turner, who narrates the film.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Rosalind Russell Arthritis Center and the UCSF Division of Rheumatology.

Now in its ninth year in San Francisco, Dining by Design, presented by DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (www.diffa.org) and in collaboration with the AIDS Research Institute at UCSF (www.ari.ucsf.edu), is the most anticipated high–design charitable event. It showcases top designers who create fantastic, one-of-a-kind tabletop installations that are unveiled for two nights only. The event benefits the Positive Health Program (www.php.ucsf.edu) at San Francisco General Hospital.

Co–Chairs: Tony Garrett of HOK Architecture, Ronette King of Gensler Architecture, and Christie McRae of McRae & Co.

TABLE–HOP & TASTE Preview Party: Wednesday, November 18 / 6–9pm

• This party sets the stage for Thursday night's gala as designers and guests mingle and preview the installations while sipping signature drinks from Stolichnaya ELIT and Castello di Gabbiano wines paired with tastes from San Francisco's top restaurants.

DINING BY DESIGN Gala Dinner: Thursday, November 19 / 6:30–11pm

• Table viewing reception featuring Castello di Gabbiano wines and Stolichnaya ELIT cocktails followed by a three-course seated dinner.
